[NEW - PROJET] How did Céline and Zoé meet?

Reading Time: 4 minutes

By Ella Brown

As we sit here together at Bar name (maybe describe the bar and the and the bar) cocktail bar in early 2020 in Paris, France with a mutual friend who has been wanting to introduce us for quite some time, it’s hard not to notice our differences.

Zoé has brown hair. She is short. She has two older brothers. She is very stylish. She is design-oriented and is working on the textile team for an underwear company. Céline has blonde hair. She is tall. She has a brother and a sister. She is very business-professional. She is working for a strategy consulting firm and is very tech-oriented.

But… we both ride motorcycles.

Maybe add a photo of you both on motorcycles/the first photo you have together?

As soon as we discovered our mutual love for being on a bike, everything seemed almost too good to be true. It was kind of crazy to randomly meet another girl who loved motorcycling since the community is so small. And for two girls to meet who both love motorcycling so much that they want to build a clothing brand from scratch with the hopes of influencing more girls to ride bikes… What more could you want?

As we talked, we began to realize how much we actually had in common. We discovered that we were both b in Paris and were currently living a 10-minute walking distance from one another. We both had plans to leave our jobs. And we were both interested in possibly having an entrepreneurial experience.

If Zoé was good at something, Céline was bad at it. And if Céline was good at something, Zoé was bad at it.

During the next few weeks, as Céline went on holiday and Zoé finished working at her old job, we started to really think critically about the possibility of an entrepreneurial adventure. It was scary because it was so unknown, but deep down, we knew that there was never going to be a better time than the present. And we may never meet a better business partner again.

While Zoé was finishing work at her old job, she got an incredible job opportunity as a creative director for a specific technical line for a luxury clothing brand. It was a really difficult decision for her to decide whether or not she wanted to take the job because it was something she has always dreamed of, but the more she thought, the more she realized how right for her ta technical brand of her own would be.

Zoé called up Céline one day and said, “Céline, I want to do TOMO.”

And that was the beginning of TOMO Clothing.
